Solar Viewing

Ever wonder what the surface of the Sun looks like? Take the opportunity with us to view sunspots and solar prominences through a solar scope and take a guided walk through our solar system!
We will be hosting our Solar Viewing on Fridays from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Lucky Peak-Sandy Point Unit. Meet us down by the concession building to learn more about the Sun and our solar system. This is also a good opportunity to earn a Junior Ranger Badge!
Please Note:
-There will be no program if there is rain or skies are overcast. Scattered clouds is not a problem.
-Entrance into the state park is $7 per motor vehicle. If you have a valid Idaho State Parks Passport on your entry vehicle your fee is waived and the program is entirely free! State Parks Passports can be purchased for $10 at your local DMV and are associated with your vehicle registration.

*Respect all wildlife, natural resources, and other visitors.
* NO glass containers/bottles of any kind at Sandy Point.
* NO pets, not even in vehicles.
