PARK UPDATE:

Spring 2024 Update:

First come, first served camping is now available in Blue Heron, Big Sage, Van Wyck, Ridgeview, and Poison Creek camping units. Water is turned on at these units, as well as the electric at Ridgeview, Poison Creek and the 3 electric sites at Big Sage. Sewer hookups are NOT available at this time, but the dump station at Van Wyck is OPEN. Please note that Blue Heron has tentative closures during May and June to finish the paving project started last fall.  Boat handling docks are installed at Van Wyck, Sugarloaf, Poison Creek and Boulder Creek. Boulder Creek and Cabarton day use areas are open with water and bathroom access. Follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with what’s going on at the park.

Osprey Point Yurts are available year-round, and  can be made by calling 1-888-922-6743 or by visiting www.parksandrecreation.idaho.gov.

Osprey Point Group Yurt Camp

Located on the west side of the lake. There are three large yurts in a common area.  Two are on one deck and the third is on a separate deck.   This camp is designed to accommodate groups up to 30 people.

Available Sleeping

  • Bluebird Yurt (20’) has 1 single/single bunk bed, 1single/double bunk bed, & 1 double futon couch-bed. Sleeps seven (7)
  • Appaloosa Yurt (24’) has 1 single/single bunk bed, 2 single/double bunk beds, & 2 double futon couch-beds. Sleeps twelve (12)
  • Syringa Yurt (24’) has 3 single/double bunk beds, & 1 double futon couch-bed. Sleeps eleven(11)

Each yurt has a cook table, a dining table, folding chairs, a two burner Coleman cook stove and two Coleman lanterns. Renters need to supply their own propane canisters. We recommend one (1) canister per appliance/day.(A stove with both burners on will burn for 1-4 hours on one canister; a lantern on full will burn for 6 hours)

Provided

Vault toilets. Drinking water is located at the outside faucet on the eastside of the well house. Picnic tables and a large fire ring (except in the winter). Vault toilets for gray water disposal (dish water).

When available, showers are located at Poison Creek campground for $3.00 per shower/person.

Things to keep in mind…

No Electricity or Telephones. Some cell phones may work, but you will want to check yours before counting on it.

Renters are responsible for light cleaning. A broom and dustpan are provided.  Plastic mattress covers now replace sheets and need to be left on – PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE . Each yurt has a wood burning stove.

Firewood is available to purchase for $8.00 per level wheelbarrow load. The stoves will accommodate wood up to 12” long. Longer pieces of wood do not fit correctly in the fire box and can break the glass in the stove door.

Reminders

  • There is a two-night minimum stay.
  • Please dispose of your gray water (dish water) in the vault toilet.
  • All vehicles must stay in the parking area.
  • Day use hours are 7am to 10 pm.  
  • NO SMOKING INSIDE THE YURTS.
  • NO PETS are allowed.
  • Check-out / 12:00 pm
  • Check-in / 3:00 pm

Idaho Resident Fee $175.00 per night for the 3 yurts.

Out of State Fee $200.00 per night for the 3 yurts.

Extra Camp Fee $20.00 per night/camp for up to 5 camping units.

Firewood is $8.00 per level wheelbarrow load.


Snowbank Group Area

Snowbank Group area

Located on the southeast side of the lake. Offers a semi-secluded camping experience. This camp is designed to accommodate groups of up to 75 people. 

There is a 25 space parking lot for vehicles and RVs (trucks with trailers use two spots). All vehicles must stay in the designated parking area.

There is an adjacent grassy area for walk-in tent camping. This area has partial shade.

Amenities

There are 16 picnic tables, 16 fire grills and a 5’ ground fire ring for group gatherings. Central water and vault toilets are available.

There are no hook-ups or electricity. No shower facilities. Showers are available at Ridgeview campground for $3.00 per shower/per person.

Firewood is available to purchase for $8.00 per bundle (nearest location is Blue Heron).

Non Refundable Reservation Fee $25.00

All motorized vehicles require a (MVEF) fee of $7 daily or an Idaho State Parks Passport Sticker or IDPR Annual Pass.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations that occur twenty-one (21) or fewer calendar days prior to arrival, will be assessed a cancellation fee equal to the first night (base rate). Cancellations that occur more than twenty-one (21) calendar days prior to arrival will be assessed a cancellation fee of fifty dollars ($50.00).
