PARK UPDATE:

Spring 2025

  • Ponderosa Campgrounds will open on May 22, 2025, for the camping season.
  • Northwest Passage Campground now requires a reservation.
  • Kokanee Cove Construction
    – Construction has begun at the Kokanee Cove site and will continue throughout the Summer.
    – Please stay out of this area until it reopens safely.
    – Anticipated opening of this area will be in the spring of 2026.
  • Water Tower 2 Restoration
    – Work will continue this summer in the Water Tower 2 restoration cut.
    – Crews will remove grand fir trees 8″ and under and pile them for burning late this fall.
    – Large slash piles will be burned this fall as well.

Lakeview Deluxe Cabins 

Ponderosa State Park has nine cabins nestled along the shore of Payette Lake. These cabins come with a full-size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, and dishwasher.  The kitchens also include; cookware, bakeware, dinnerware, utensils, cups, coffee maker, toaster, and so much more.  The bedrooms and bathrooms come stocked with blankets, sheets, and towels.​

  • Mule-Deer: Sleeps up to 4 guests. The space is ADA accessible, featuring a ramp that leads to the entrance. It has an open floor plan, which includes a queen-size bed and a fold-out sofa that also converts to a queen size. The bathroom is equipped with a full tub and a fold-down bench for added convenience.

  • Moose: Sleeps 2 guests. The accommodation is ADA accessible, featuring a ramp leading to the entrance. It includes a pass-through bathroom equipped with a roll-in shower that connects to the main bedroom, which has a queen-sized bed. Customers are allowed to bring an air mattress to be placed in the loft to increase sleeping capacity.

  • Bear, Wolf, Fox: Sleeps 2. These all have the same floor plan with a queen-size bed. Customers are permitted to bring an air mattress to be placed in the loft to accommodate their sleeping capacity.
  • Eagle, Owl, White-tail: This cabin sleeps up to 6 guests and is single-level, featuring two bedrooms. One bedroom includes a queen-size bed, while the other has one queen-size bed and one full-size bed.e bed and one full-size bed. bed.

  • Elk: Sleeps 6. This cabin is the largest of the options, featuring vaulted ceilings. On the main level, there is a bedroom with a queen-sized bed. The loft area contains two queen beds, though no privacy walls separate them. In the living room, you’ll find a standard sofa, an accompanying chair, and a dining table with six chairs.

Camper Cabin: Non-Deluxe

  • Fawn: This camper cabin sleeps 3 and has basic amenities: a table, a couch, and a bunk bed. It does not have water or a restroom, but it does have heat/air conditioning and power. There is an outdoor spigot.

There is a 2-night minimum stay per reservation.

  • $10.00 – $25.00 Reservation Fee (per cabin) plus tax
  • $100.00 Cleaning/Damage Deposit (per reservation) *
  • All cabins are $300 for residents and $330 for non-residents.
