Winter Stargazing – Harriman State Park
On Saturday, February 18th, join a ranger on this 3-mile roundtrip snowshoe/ski to the Becker Yurt for an evening of naked-eye stargazing. Come explore the night sky and warm up with some hot chocolate. Meet at the Ranchview Paking area, be prepared for the cold, & bring a headlamp! Red light capable headlamps are recommended to preserve night vision. Trek leaves at 6:00p.m.
**Equipment is required underfoot**
Snowshoe loaners may be available. Please request ahead of time.
$7 Motor Vehicle Entrance Fee and $6 per person Winter Access Fee are required.
Dogs aren’t allowed on this trek. The Harriman Hounds Trail, going out into the National Forest and outside the Wildlife Refuge, is groomed during the winter and is the only trail available for dogs.
