PARK UPDATE:

11/17/20: According to a statement released by the Idaho Transportation Department, crews anticipate Highway 55 being completely open again by Thanksgiving. Road work will continue in the spring of 2021.

10/06/20: Attention Campers: After Labor Day, the park will become walk-up only, also known as First-Come, First-Serve. Reservations will no longer be accepted.

11/12/20: With the current conditions, we have closed most of our campgrounds. Blue Heron, Van Wyck, Winter Lot (near Crown Point), Sugarloaf Boat Ramp, Boulder Creek and Poison Creek Boat Ramp are still open. Camping is available at Blue Heron, Van Wyck and Poison Creek Boat Ramp. Please be prepared to be self contained. All amenities have been shut off.   • Reservations for the 9-month reservation window will begin Dec. 10, 2020.
  • Be advised that construction on Highway 55 will begin on Sept. 8 and is expected to last at least 2 years, with various closures and impacts. Please click the link HERE to read more information about the project.

Osprey Point Group Yurt Camp

Located on the west side of the lake. There are three large yurts in a common area.  Two are on one deck and the third is on a separate deck.   This camp is designed to accommodate groups up to 30 people.

Available Sleeping

  • Bluebird Yurt (20’) has 1 single/single bunk bed, 1single/double bunk bed, & 1 double futon couch-bed. Sleeps (7)
  • Appaloosa Yurt (24’) has 1 single/single bunk bed, 2 single/double bunk beds, & 2 double futon couch-beds. Sleeps (12)
  • Syringa Yurt (24’) has 3 single/double bunk beds, & 1 double futon couch-bed. Sleeps (11)

Each yurt has a cook table, a dining table, and folding chairs, a two burner Coleman cook stove and two Coleman lanterns.  Renters need to supply their own propane canisters. We recommend 1 canister each appliance per day.  The lanterns must have the short fat canisters, not the tall ones.  (A stove with both burners on will burn for 1-4.5 hours on one canister; a lantern on full will burn 7 hours.) (Plastic mattress covers are available upon request)

Amenities

Composting vault (ADA) toilets are available. No shower facilities.  Drinking water is available at the outside faucet on the eastside of the well house.  Picnic tables are available outside and a large fire ring is between the decks (except in the winter).  Showers are at Poison Creek campground when water is available for $3.00 per shower/person.

No Electricity or Telephones. Some cell phones may work, but you will want to check yours before counting on it.

Renters are responsible for light cleaning.

A broom and dustpan are provided.  Sheets and/or plastic mattress covers.

Each yurt has a wood burning stove.

Firewood is available to purchase for $8.00 per level wheelbarrow load. The stoves will accommodate wood up to 12” long.

Longer pieces of wood do not fit correctly in the fire box and can break the glass in the stove door.

Reminders

  • There is a two-night minimum stay.
  • Please dispose of your gray water (dish water) in the handicap toilet.
  • All vehicles must stay in the parking area.
  • Day use hours are 7am to 10 pm.  
  • NO SMOKING INSIDE THE YURTS.
  • NO PETS are allowed.
  • Check-out / 12:00 pm
  • Check-in / 3:00 pm

  • $25.00 reservation fee (nonrefundable and does not apply to rental fees)
  • $175-$193 per night for the 3 yurts.
  • Children under 3 yrs. N/C
  • All motorized vehicles require a (MVEF) fee of $5.00 daily or an Idaho State Parks Passport Sticker or IDPR Annual Pass.
  • For an additional charge of $10.60/night per RV or tent you may also have up to five (5) camping units. 8 people per site.
  • Firewood is $8.00 per level wheelbarrow load.

Snowbank Group Area

Snowbank Group area

Located on the southeast side of the lake. Offers a semi-secluded camping experience. This camp is designed to accommodate groups of up to 75 people. Children under 3 are exempt.

There is a 25 space parking lot for vehicles and RVs (trucks with trailers use two spots). All vehicles must stay in the designated parking area.

There is an adjacent grassy area for walk-in tent camping. This area has partial shade.

Amenities

There are 16 picnic tables, 16 fire grills and a 5’ ground fire ring for group gatherings. Central water and vault toilets are available.

There are no hook-ups or electricity. No shower facilities. Showers are available at Ridgeview campground for $3.00 per shower/per person.

Firewood is available to purchase for $5.00 per bundle (nearest location is Blue Heron).
