Eagle Island State Park Shelters

PARK UPDATE:

Construction Update April 12, 2024:

Due to short-term construction needs, some heavy equipment will use Hatchery Road on Monday and Tuesday, April 15th and 16th. The contractor has been directed to operate no earlier than 7 a.m. on those days.
Highway 44/State Street entrance will remain closed through June 2024. Please continue to use Hatchery/Linder Road until directed otherwise. Please stay out of the fields and be respectful of construction areas and workers.
- The extended closure is a change from the original plan and is intended to make up for construction delays and to avoid a second planned closure in the fall.

Attention Park Visitors: Please adhere to trail closure signs during the construction process. The shop road/horse trailer access road is currently closed but will reopen when it is safe to do so. We ask that horse trailers please use our overflow gravel parking lot for the time being!

Note: The completed campground will not impact trail areas, this is only temporary while work is being done. Thank you!

Historic Building Renovations:

The park will also be working on historic building renovations. Please be mindful of workers in the area.

Eagle Island State Park in mid-2022 enacted a new policy regarding dogs off-leash and has designated an area and trails that are open to off-leash dogs that are under the demonstrated control of their owners. Click here for details.

To reserve a Day Use Shelter at Eagle Island, you will need to fill out a Reservation Application. Fill out and email eag@idpr.idaho.gov the application directly to the Park. If your application is approved, Park staff will contact you to continue the reservation process.

General Information

Shelter reservation fee ($25) is non-refundable and included in the cost.
- Credit card payments will be subject to a 3% processing fee.
Any group exceeding the reservation area or any group needing special considerations must apply for a group use permit (GUP)
- If you are requesting to have more than 100 people you may be denied or required to reserve both the Kestrel and Osprey shelters and apply for a group use permit (GUP).
All motor vehicles entering the park must pay the $7.00 entrance fee or display a valid Idaho State Parks Passport.
Amplified music must be contained within the shelter to not disturb other users. Park staff reserves the right to have music turned down and/or off.
The park closes at sunset.
Pets must be on a leash at all times and owners are responsible for pet clean up.
Cleanup of tables and shelter area is the responsibility of the reserving party.
The person making this reservation is responsible for informing all group members, caterers and rental companies of the above information.
Parking is on a first come, first served basis. There are no guaranteed parking spots associated with a shelter reservation.
