U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Skills and Seamanship Course

The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's Boating Skills and Seamanship (BS&S) course is a comprehensive course designed for both the experienced and the novice boater. This course meets 2.5 hours/week for 12 weeks starting 7 pm February 6, 2017. The course consists of 8 core required lessons plus five elective lessons, providing up-to-date knowledge for handling boats in all conditions. Topics include selecting a boat, equipment, trailering, boat handling, navigation rules and markers, inland boating, basic piloting and chart navigation, small boat safety, lines and knots, weather considerations, VHF radio information and procedures. All instructors are U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Certified Instructors. Class is limited to 20 students.
