PARK UPDATE:

Update Winter 2023-2024:

The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) and the Bureau of Reclamation invite the public to an open house on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the American Legion Post #60, located at 105 E. Mill St., Cascade 83611, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. MST.

During the event, the public can learn about the marina project and record official comments in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the proposed action, speak with Reclamation and IDPR staff, learn how to submit comments, and see the next steps for consideration regarding the marina. Representatives from the Tamarack Resort, which initiated the proposal and would operate the facility, if approved, will be available to answer questions.

As proposed, the project would increase public parking and install up to 200 seasonal boat slips, onsite fuel sales, and a rental and retail facility.

For more information or to comment, see the Marina Proposal page.

Winter camping is now available in the boat ramp parking areas at Blue Heron, Van Wyck, and Poison Creek Units. Additionally, there is winter day use access at Boulder Creek Day Use Area and at the Stonebraker Winter Parking Area provided by Idaho Fish and Game. As a reminder, NO CAMPFIRES ARE ALLOWED in any Lake Cascade State Park units throughout the winter season.

Osprey Point Yurts are available year-round, and reservations can be made by calling 1-888-922-6743 or by visiting www.parksandrecreation.idaho.gov.

About the Park

Lake Cascade offers two group camping opportunities, including Snowbank group camp and Osprey Point group yurts, 279 individual campsites in 10 developed campgrounds (with power, sewer, and water at Poison Creek and Ridgeview) two dispersed camping areas with primitive camping, several day use areas, and six boat launch ramps.

Windsurfers and boat sails crisscross Lake Cascade when the afternoon winds kick up. Anglers catch Rainbow Trout, Coho Salmon, or Small-mouth Bass all year long and hikers or mountain bikers traverse a variety of trails within and beyond the park. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, the nearby North Fork of the Payette River offers world-class white water adventure.

Lake Cascade has as many camping options as it does recreational opportunities with hundreds of campsites ranging from primitive to fully serviced hook-ups. The sites are located along 86 miles of shoreline with beautiful views of Lake Cascade and the North Fork Mountain Range.

Visit the Bureau of Reclamation website for current water levels.

The park is open year round. Reservations are from the Thursday before Memorial Day to Labor Day. In the winter (snow season), camping is limited and outside of reservations, it is based on a first come first serve. Call the park for details.
