IDAHO STATE PARKS PASSPORT’S PROVIDE SIGNIFICANT SAVINGS FOR STATE PARK VISITORS
IDAHO (May 17, 2013) - Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner. The Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) would like to remind outdoor enthusiasts about the Idaho State Parks Passport, a new way for Idahoans to enjoy discounted visits to their Idaho State Parks.
The Idaho State Parks Passport may be purchased online with the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), by mail renewal issued by ITD, or at your local Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office. You may purchase a one-year pass sticker for $10 per vehicle or a two-year pass sticker for $20 per vehicle.
The Idaho State Parks Passport sticker is tied to a specific vehicle and must be permanently affixed to the lower corner of the driver’s side windshield.
The Idaho State Parks Passport waives the $5 per vehicle, per day motor vehicle entry fee (MVEF) assessed at every Idaho State Park and applies to all vehicles operated within state parks.
The MVEF is assessed to all motor homes, trucks and cars including towed vehicles if used within the park, motorbikes, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), utility-type vehicles (UTVs), snowmobiles, and golf-carts used for ingress and egress within Idaho State Parks.
Purchasing an Idaho State Parks Passport for each of your motor vehicles will save park visitors $5 per vehicle, per day in motor vehicle entry fees and will help support Idaho State Parks for current and future generations.
Those operating off-highway vehicles (OHVs) within Idaho State Parks you will also need an OHV registration sticker as identified in Idaho Code Title 67.
Every Idaho State Parks Passport sold supports the ongoing access, maintenance and operation of Idaho’s State Parks. Thank you for your support!
