The 2014 snow-park season comes to an end at Eagle Island
Message from Gateway Parks:
Mother Nature can throw a mean curve ball. In the snow sports industry, weather is always the unknown variable. When weather is in your favor, it snows and you get a homerun, or at least the temperatures are sufficiently low to allow snow to be made. When it is not in your favor, it rains and melts the snow surface and you have to walk to first base.
For Eagle Island, we enjoyed great holiday season weather and made heaps of the white stuff. Unfortunately, recent weather patterns have turned spring-like which has deteriorated our base and left us without the cold temps to slow the melt-rate.
We are disappointed to announce that the 2014 season has come to an end at Eagle Island State Park. We want to thank all of those that supported us throughout last summer and fall as we brought the concept to the residents and community of Eagle, ID.
Look for us to begin snowmaking many weeks earlier next year so we can take advantage of the coldest temperatures in the winter. We look forward to improving all aspects of the park and the guest experience.
