The Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation will be hosting a free boating safety class. The class will be held over two sessions from 6:00 - 8:30 pm on May 22 and 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm on May 23, 2018. Students must attend both sessions to receive the certification card.

The class will be held at the Headquarters Office of the Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation location at 5657 Warm Springs Avenue in Boise (next door to the Idaho Shakespeare Theater).  To register use this link: https://idpr.idaho.gov/reced/Home/Search?searchOption=BOAT

All boaters, regardless of experience, are encouraged to take a boating safety class to learn about Idaho boating laws and pick up some boating safety tips. Many families take the course together so both kids and adults can safely operate their boat. Some insurance companies even offer a discount to those boat owners that successfully complete the “Boat Idaho” boat safety course. Check with your insurance agent to see if you are eligible.
