Free Boating Safety Class (Boise)

Tuesday, February 18, 2020 - 6:00pm to Wednesday, February 19, 2020 - 6:00pm

The Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation will be hosting a free boating safety class. The class will be held over two sessions from 6:00 - 9:00 pm on Febraury 18 and 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm on February 19, 2020. Students must attend both sessions to receive the certification card.

The class will be held at the Headquarters Office of the Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation located at 5657 Warm Springs Avenue in Boise (next door to the Idaho Shakespeare Theater).

All boaters, regardless of experience, are encouraged to take a boating safety class to learn about Idaho boating laws and pick up some boating safety tips. Many families take the course together so both kids and adults can safely operate their boat. Some insurance companies even offer a discount to those boat owners that successfully complete the “Boat Idaho” boat safety course. Check with your insurance agent to see if you are eligible.

Contact Sadie Wright at (208) 514-2426 or sadie.wright@idpr.idaho.gov to register for the class.  Students should bring their own beverages/snacks and note taking materials.

As a special incentive, those students who successfully pass the class will receive a $50 gift certificate courtesy of Idaho Water Sports (IWS)! Bring your boater safety card from the class into IWS to redeem.  Limit 1 certificate per person per purchase – can’t be combined with any other coupon or offer.
