Celebration of Idaho

Friday, April 26, 2019 - 7:30pm

What better way to celebrate the majestic beauty of Idaho than by playing music as stunning and sweeping as she is! In our season finale, the Idaho State-Civic Symphony will "Celebrate Idaho" by performing Dvořák's beloved “New World Symphony,” based on the composer's first experiences with American music and the spectacular landscapes, and considered to be "a hymn and an anthem to how great America can be." Also on the program, is A Silent City of Rocks by ISCS Principal Timpani and Chair of the Idaho State University Music Department, Thom Hasenpflug. The piece pays homage to the rich and beautiful landscapes that can only be found in the great state of Idaho.
