Celebrate the New Year with a First Day Hike at Three Island Crossing State Park

Monday, January 1, 2018 - 11:00am

State parks across the nation will be ringing in the new year with First Day Hikes to connect individuals and families to nature, fostering physical and mental well-being and shared stewardship of the natural, cultural, and recreational resources of our state parks.

Join us on New Years Day for a First Day Hike at Three Island Crossing State Park! We will be hiking the 1.82 mile Three Island Crossing Historic Trail. This is an easy hike and your leashed pets are welcome to join us. All ages welcome with parents discretion. Dependent upon the weather conditions and interest, the hike will include the trail to the Snake River where the pioneer wagons exited the water after crossing the two of the three islands.  They will also see an old ferry that was built to carry wagons across the river during the re-enactments held at the park.

Be sure to bring water, snacks, and wear weather appropriate clothing and shoes.
