Avalanche Awareness & Companion Rescue Clinic

Friday, January 19, 2018 - 6:00pm to Saturday, January 20, 2018 - 1:00pm

Since avalanches are the number one cause of snowmobile fatalities in the west, the Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation is presenting a free snowmobile based avalanche awareness and companion rescue clinic in Cascade on January 19 & 20. Friday. January 19 will be the classroom clinic from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Valley County Sheriff's Recreation Patrol building. Saturday, January 20 will be the field day from 9:00am to approximately 1:00pm and will meet at West Mountain Snowmobile parking lot.

These practical and popular classes familiarize the winter backcountry enthusiast with hazard recognition and techniques for safe travel in avalanche terrain.
