Idaho Recreation
When you're riding, hiking or skiing Idaho's trails, you won't often see Parks and Recreation staff. We aren't right there when you're having fun on Idaho's lakes and rivers, either. Although the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation stays mostly in the background, our impact on recreation is large.
The Recreation Program develops and maintains trails and provides facilities statewide for boaters, RV users, cross-country skiers, snowmobilers and off-highway motor vehicle riders. We're able to do that by putting most of the money you pay for registration right back into your favorite recreational activity. A percentage of the gas taxes you pay also helps provide places to play.
