Lake Cascade State Park is nestled in the majestic mountains of central Idaho approximately 75 miles north of Boise on State Highway 55. This large park provides diverse and exciting recreational opportunities throughout all four seasons.
Popular for all types of boating, prevailing winds on the water make it especially well suited for sailing and windsurfing. Rainbow trout, Coho salmon, small mouth bass and perch can be caught from the shore or by boat in the summer or through the ice in the winter.

Summer has arrived at Lake Cascade State Park! The surrounding mountains are still holding areas of snow making for a beautiful backdrop on a nearly full lake. Recent warm weather has helped dry the areas but visitors should expect some wet conditions.
Day Use Opportunities:
All of the day use areas are open and ready for use. The day use fee of $4.00 applies or access the areas with the Idaho State Parks Annual Pass.
The Crown Point Railroad Trail is available for non-motorized use. Trail visitors will be treated to an outstanding display of wildflowers and opportunities to view wildlife. This 2.7-mile trail is located near the entrance to Crown Point campground. Pets are allowed on a leash.
Boat Launching:
All ramps and handling docks are in place and ready for use. Boaters should use caution when launching, retrieving and boating around the lake.
Camping Opportunities:
Camping is available in all of our campgrounds around the lake. Tent campers will find some wet conditions in Buttercup Campground. We recommend for those staying in tents that they bring along a ground cover.
You are invited to enjoy the City of Cascade’s, Thunder Mountain Days--4th of July Celebration.
