The Park Today
Old Mission
Coeur d’Alene’s Old Mission State Park is open for extended summer hours from 8:00am-6:00pm. The Mission and Parish House are open daily. Our new visitor center is currently under construction and because of this our lower parking lot has been closed to visitors. All parking is being directed to the upper hill just below the Mission. Our temporary visitor center and gift shop is now located in the Parish House. We do not have running water on site because it has been turned off for construction and therefore we’re advising all visitors to bring their own water.
Trail of the Coeur d’Alene’s
The Trail of the Coeur d’Alene’s has had recent damage as a result of flooding in the area. The trail is currently closed from the Harrison trailhead to the Cataldo Trailhead. There has been extensive damage to the trail outside of Harrison. An 80-100 foot section was washed out completely. Other damages consist of gravel barriers and gravel banking being washed out. Construction crews are currently working on the trail and therefore we asks that visitors stay out of the closed sections. The trail is open for use from the Mullan trailhead to the Cataldo trailhead and open from Harrison to Plummer. We will update current trail conditions as they come in.
