Eagle Island State Park - Swimming beach closed until further notice
EAGLE- (July 14, 2014) The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) announced today that it will be closing the swimming beach at Eagle Island State Park, after reports of illness.
Tests conducted in partnership with the Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) last week showed no cause for concern. But reports from visitors over the weekend are prompting IDPR to prevent access to the popular swimming area until additional testing can take place.
“The health and safety of our visitors is our top priority, said Director Nancy Merrill. “We’re all concerned over the reports of illness and want to do what we can to be proactive in protecting our guests.”
Additional water quality testing will take place at Eagle Island State Park this week.
The waterslide, picnic areas, disc golf and equestrian areas will remain open.
Swimming areas within the park will remain closed until further notice.
