CARRYING CAPACITY SET FOR NORTH BEACH WILL BE ENFORCED
McCall (June 20, 2012) - The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) released today that a carrying capacity has been established for the North Beach Unit of Ponderosa State Park.
North Beach is a day-use only property, managed by IDPR and located along the northern-most border of Payette Lake in McCall.
The carrying capacity for North Beach was established to protect the natural resources on and around the beach and to ensure the health and safety of visitors.
A one thousand person maximum will be allowed on North Beach at any one time throughout the year.
North Beach is a popular destination over the Fourth of July holiday.
Those planning to visit North Beach should be advised that the beach capacity will be enforced. And visitors turned away once capacity has been reached.
